The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) postponed the hearing in the petitions filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) against the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the February 25, 2023, presidential election in Nigeria.
The hearing was adjourned to Thursday, May 18, after counsel requested more time to harmonize all processes and agree on issues for determination by the court.
The court will determine the petitions filed by Atiku and APM, which cited incidents of non-compliance, corrupt practices, and other irregularities, in a bid to void Tinubu’s emergence as President-elect. The court had directed the parties to harmonize their processes and return to court on May 11, but the adjournment followed requests by counsel to enable them to agree on modalities for the pre-hearing session.
